I can't really individually go to every person trying to contradict what they think of the film. At the end, the audience is the king. What they think of a film is the right opinion of the film. I still stick by my decision of doing the film. I love the film. I love the character. I love the fact that I was getting to work with Sanjay Leela Bhansali.
Absolutely not. I come from a family and also I was the newcomer whom people were looking out for. I was getting really good offers and really tempting offers. It was always my dream to work with Sanjay Bhansali because I have been a big Devdas fan and I have worked with him as an assistant in that. I understood his vision. He had a vision before the film and we interacted a lot. I know that the people did not get it (Saawariya), but I totally got his vision. I totally understood what he was out there to do.
I AM A LOVER BOY...
‘I won’t say Deepika is my lucky mascot’
I have zero style sense
"I won't give her a chance to cheat on me"
"My daadi is my favorite cook"
"I like to believe I am a romantic at heart"
By being romantic, you don't lose your macho touch and image. I love to be romanced and to romance. I've never done anything crazy in my life but once my tooth was really hurting and my girlfriend at the time kept her hand by my cheek the whole night. I was touched to see her when I woke up in the morning. But be aware of the fine line between being romantic and corny.
Having an opinion is great, but there is no need for a screaming match-at home or elsewhere. You can have a healthy discussion over a cup of tea.
MY THOUGHT FOR FOOD...
MY BREAKFAST usually comprises egg whites and a glass of vegetable juice. The vegetable juice changes from day to day. Sometimes its tomato, sometimes karela - all the bad-tasting vegetables basically. I have been on it since a year now.
IF I AM HOME, I have home food for lunch, which is generally Indian. One sabzi and dal. I am not much of a rice eater. I prefer roti or paratha. My favourite sabzi is bhindi.
ON THE SETS of Saawariya, I would carry home food byt we also had great Gujarati food, which Mr. Bhansali would get from his house. I was never xposed to that kind of food but I got really friendly with it. We had theplas, khandvis, and dhoklas. Mr Bhansali's mom makes amazing dal dhokli, so we would really look forward to the dal dhokli days.
MY CHILDHOOD MEMORY of food, like most kids, include butter chicken because we all grew up on that taste. I also grew up on paya that my grandmom makes at her house. I am very attached to that taste as well as the cook has been there with us for 50 years. He has been cooking since my grandfather's time and they say he has maintained the taste. The paya that he makes is the most delicious thing I have ever eaten.
