Close friends in industry wish Dev Anand birthday...
Tabassum
I think I know Dev ji really well and my photographs with him prove this. He always taught me one thing –‘Jo cheez tumhe tension de, usko tum attention mat do’ ..and perhaps this is the reason he is so young at heart and evergreen as ever. I wish him a very happy birthday!!!
Best Film together: I’ve done two films with him in my childhood,
then I did Gambler with his production followed by Tere Mere Sapne,
Hum Nao jawan and the last one which I did with him directed by Vijay
Anand was ‘Jana na dil se doorr’ it did not release as Vijay Anand ji
expired. All the films I did with him have beautiful memories.”
Memories: Every moment which I spend with him is precious to me
because he has always been very encouraging and optimistic about
things. It was he who used to tell me that ‘When the history of film
industry would be compiled, your name might not be there but one thing
is for sure that when compilation of Indian Television will be done,
you would surely be on the first page’. So now you can imagine that
what significance he has in my life!”
Sanjay Khan
Dev ji is a very spiritual man; he’s a man full of
courage. I wish he grows younger day by day, wish him a very happy
birthday!
Dev Anand’s movie which he likes the most: Guide
Memories: My most memorable moment with him was when long time back,
when he invited a Hollywood actor Shirley Maclaine to his place, he
invited me too. He introduced both of us in his typical style by
nodding his head saying ‘Shirley, This is Sanjay and this is Shirley’,
that was very memorable for me.
Rati Agnihotri
I salute him for his undying spirit and wish him many
more springs to come. So live forever, Dev Saab! And a very happ
birthday to you!
Best Film Together: Swami Dada. There will always be room in my heart
for him and all the memories I have with him are memorable ones for
me. He always helps his co-stars and each moment with him was a
learning experience.
Asha Bhosle
Dev Saab: I would pray for you that you stay young from the inside;
no matter how old your body gets! And the work you have done! We are
all proud of that. Today's young guns can't even dream of getting
there.
Dev Anand movie she likes the most: All his movies are my favourite
and I watch them even today. But I would recommend Guide as a landmark
of his career. It's a movie I will watch time and again. It's eternal
in its making and acting.
Most memorable moment with him: I remember once I was recording a
song for his movie and he had some dialogue to deliver in the song.
You know, I sat six times in between the recording as it was taking
long but Dev Saab was standing continuously. And when I asked him to
sit, he politely said: I'm fine. And that left me wondering about his
stamina. And he's the same way today also: he might have grown old but
at work, he is what he was… and that particular moment taught me to bes
energetic!
