"STAR PARIVAAR AWARDS (POLL)" ("Poll") will be held on STAR PLUS ("Channel") as stated hereunder:
PART A - PRINCIPAL TERMS
1. The Poll shall commence from April 25th, 2008 at 00:00:01 hours upto May 15, 2008 at 23:59:59 hours ("Period") on the Channel.

2. On Air Promos shall be telecast on the Channel wherein each viewer(s) will be asked to vote for one of their favorite (i) Elder i.e. Buzurg and/or (ii) Naya Sadasya i.e. Newcomer (Female) and/or (iii) Naya Sadasya i.e. Newcomer (Male) and/or (iv) Villain i.e. Khalnayak(v) Compatible couple i.e. Yogya Jodi (vi) Daughter i.e. Beti and/or (vii) Son i.e. Beta and/or (viii) Husband i.e. Pati and/or (ix) Wife i.e. Patni and/or (x) Mother in Law i.e. Saas and/or (xi) Daughter in Law i.e. Bahu and/or (xii) Couple i.e. Jodi ("Categories").

3. The viewer interested in casting his/her vote for the Categories, can opt for the following two methods:
3.1 By SMS - The viewer must SMS "SPA" to 57827.
3.2. By Voice Services - This method is applicable to BSNL landline & Reliance Mobile users only.
For Reliance (Mobile Only): The viewer interested in voting for his/her favorite nominee(s) must dial 51234 and say "Star Parivaar" and carefully follow instructions thereafter to cast their vote.

For Landline (MTNL & BSNL users only): The viewer interested in voting for his/her favorite nominee(s) must dial 1862 888 3333 followed by the voting id of his/her favorite nominee(s) for the given Categories.

3.3 Log on www.indya.com ("Website") and carefully follow the instructions thereafter given on the website.

4. The viewer desirous of casting his/her vote for Category (i) i.e. Favorite Buzurg can only cast vote through SMS and Website For sake of clarity, the viewers cannot cast vote for Category (i) i.e. Favorite Buzurg via Voice Services.

5. The viewer would have to follow the steps stated below to cast their vote for the Category:

5.1 SMS - The viewer must SMS "SPA" to 57827. Thereafter, the viewer would get an SMS which would set out all the Categories. On receipt of the aforesaid reply SMS, the viewer must select the Category for which the viewer wishes to cast his/her vote and finally reply to the aforesaid SMS by voting for their favorite person (cast). Viewer(s) must vote for only those categories or the person listed in the SMS.

5.2 Voice Service for BSNL & MTNL subscribers - BSNL & MTNL subscribers can participate via Voice Service by calling the number 1862 888 333 followed by the nominee ID.

5.3 Voice Service for Reliance Mobile subscribers - Reliance Mobile subscribers can participate via Voice Service by calling the number 51234.

Upon calling on the above number, the viewer(s) would be provided instructions to select the Category which they wish to vote and the person(s) within that Category they wish to cast their vote. The viewer must hear the instructions and follow the instructions very carefully to avoid being disqualified from voting. Viewer(s) must vote for only those Categories or the person informed to the viewers during the call.

6. The cost charged to the viewers by the operators (mobile operators for voters under category 5.1, landline operators for voters under category 5.2 and mobile operator under category 5.3) will be as follows:
6.1 For SMS: Each SMS shall be charged by the respective mobile operators at rate stated herein below:
Rs. 3: Vodafone, Airtel, BPL, Reliance Communications, Spice, Aircel, Idea, Reliance Telecom, Tata Indicom.
Rs. 2: MTNL Delhi (Pre paid), BSNL.
Rs. 1: MTNL Mumbai, MTNL Delhi (post paid).
6.2 The cost of calling from BSNL & MTNL landlines shall be Rs. 2 for each pulse.
6.3 The cost of calling from Reliance Mobile phones shall be Rs.6 per minute.

7. The cost of each SMS or Voice Services or landline (as the case may be) shall be charged by the respective operators. Neither STAR India Private Limited (STAR India") nor the Channel shall be responsible in case of any network problem and/or the costs charged by the mobile or landline operator (as the case may be). Any dispute in connection to the same shall be settled directly between the subscriber and the mobile or landline operator without involving STAR India and/or the Channel.

8. In case of telecom and/or network failure and/or for any reasons whatsoever, STAR India reserves the right to change the voting system/mechanism and/or cease from accepting votes of the viewers for any and/or all the Categories, or take such necessary steps as it may deem fit.

9. Votes sent by the viewer(s) for their favorite Categories after the Period stated above shall not be considered and shall be invalid.

10. It is expressly stated that this is simply a Poll to enable the viewers to choose their favorite nominee(s) or the couple(s). Therefore, there shall be no winners declared or Prizes distributed for this Poll.

11. It is expressly stated herein that unclear SMS and/or entry, incomplete SMS and/or entry/vote, SMS containing wrong characters, faulty SMS etc. will not be considered and shall be considered as invalid entry.

12. All the entries should state all the required information, which have been asked from them and/or otherwise.

PART B- GENERAL RULES
1. STAR India or the Channel reserves all rights to make amendments to the existing rules without prior notice.

2. The viewer interested in participating in the Poll must be above the age of 18 years and a resident of India.

3. The voter(s) of the Poll agrees that he/she shall hold harmless the Channel, STAR India, its employees, officers or any other person in relation to any injury/damage/harm/loss suffered by him/her, in any manner, whatsoever in connection with the Poll and shall also not file in person/ through any family member and/or third party any applications, criminal and/or civil proceedings in any courts or forum in India against the sponsor and/or the Channel and/or STAR India to claim any damages or relief's or otherwise.

4. The Channel and/or STAR India is in no manner whatsoever responsible and/or shall not be held liable in any manner whatsoever, for any injury, death, mental trauma caused to the voter in any manner whatsoever, in connection to the Poll.

5. Employees of the Channel, STAR India, and the members of their immediate family, persons with criminal convictions, persons other than citizens of India, are ineligible to vote and be part of the Poll.

6. The participation of the viewer(s) in the Poll shall mean that the viewer (s) has read, understood, accepted and agrees to abide with all the rules including the general rules of the Poll.

7. The outcome of the Poll/the decision made by the Channel and/or STAR India regarding the Poll shall be final and binding on the viewers and in no event shall the viewer/voter dispute the decision made by STAR India, Channels and/or its employees in connection to the Poll.

8. The terms of this rules and regulations shall be construed in accordance with the laws of India and incase of any dispute or other matter arising in reference to the Poll shall be referred to a sole arbitrator appointed by STAR India and shall be governed by the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996, amended from time to time. The venue for arbitration shall be Mumbai, in English language. The costs, charges and expenses in connection to arbitration shall be solely borne by the viewer(s) disputing.

9. Subject to rule 8, the courts of Mumbai shall have the sole jurisdiction to settle any dispute in connection to the Poll.
