At a Diwali party over the weekend, our source overheard Sanjay Dutt talking about plans for a Blue sequel.

Our source told us, ‘Blue ended on an open note with the possibility of a sequel. Sanjay said that there were plans about a sequel to Blue which will be shot in Australia’s Great Barrier Reef on a bigger scale. While Blue had several sharks Blue 2 will have more dangerous sharks like the Great White Shark and Bull Shark. Great Whites are known to attack humans. He also said that since Anthony already has an idea for Blue 2, the movie will go into pre-production soon and he couldn’t wait to be part of it because making Blue was a thrilling experience for him.'

Our source adds, ‘Sanjay gushing over Blue is strange because he wasn’t very happy with his role in the film and had also stopped shooting for a while when they were in The Bahamas. Moreover, he refused to promote the movie. Now that the movie is a success and he has supposedly made up with Akshay Kumar, he cannot wait to start work on the sequel. There will be another male star alongside Akshay, Sanjay and Zayed. Lara and Katrina will reprise their roles. ’

When contacted, director Anthony D’Souza clarified, “There are no plans of doing a sequel right now. I am working on my next film starring Akshay Kumar, John Abraham and Sonal Chauhan. It’s about aerial combat. It will be a while before Blue’s sequel comes along.”

When we hinted if this new film was a remake of Top Gun, Souza did not comment. But didn't we think Blue was copied from Hollywood, so why shouldn't his next also be a copy? We're way too hard on him, are we!
