We got to ogle at Shahid’s six-pack-abs as he raced with white horses in
Kaminey. We will get to see them once more in the upcoming dance film,
Chance Pe Dance.
‘My character Charlie in
Kaminey was muscular and tough. My character, Sameer, in
Chance Pe Dance is a struggler and a dancer, so he has to maintain a good body and show it off in one particular song, for which I worked towards building an eight-pack.’
Building his dream pack that has girls drooling over the dimpled star was no easy task. ‘I had to change my lifestyle over a period of one year. Luckily for me, I love working out. It keeps me relaxed and focused. I get depressed if I miss my workouts, so my films gave me a chance to push myself. I had to cut out a lot of foods from my diet and add new, healthy ones.’
‘I cut out sugar and increased healthy carbohydrates in my diet by eating brown rice and oats. I ate six meals; a meal every 2.5 hours. I worked out every day even if I had to hit the gym after completing a shoot at 2 am. My routine included weight training, cardio-circuit training and Parkour training. The results are worth all the gruelling hours at the gym and the sacrifices I have made,’ beams Shahid.
‘As an actor, you have to change yourself physically for every role, even if it is just getting a new hairstyle. Eight and six-pack-abs are hard to maintain. It is better to follow a healthy lifestyle by working out regularly and eating right,’ signs off the heartthrob.
