The director duo team of Abbas Mustan, spoke to us. "We have already finalised the script of the film Race 2. There are some last-minute finishing touches being added. Soon, we will start shooting for the film."

Race released in 2008 - starring Saif Ali Khan, Akshaye Khanna, Anil Kapoor, Katrina Kaif, Bipasha Basu and Sameera Reddy - and was a huge hit. It was such a hit that people started comparing it to the franchise of the Dhoom series, and the idea caught on with the directors, who are keen to begin early.

Abbas added, "We have never in the past made any sequels to our many hit films, but for this one film, we are making an exception."

A source says " Anil and Saif are signed for the film. Both of them are finalised. There is a doubt about Akshaye Khanna featuring in the sequel, because he was killed in the end of Race. So, most probably, some other guy will be shown in the third lead role. Even the 3 ladies are not yet finalised. Bipasha Basu working with Saif Ali Khan will be exciting to watch, but there is less chance of that happening, as Bebo and Bipasha are not on good terms."

Producer Ramesh Taurani confirmed that when Saif is done shooting Agent Vinod, Race 2 will take off.
