After she was last seen in the 2006 dud Sandwich starring Govinda and Mahima Chaudhary, Raveena went on a long maternity break for her second child Ranbir. The actress was recently seen making her presence felt at several events around town and looks like a million bucks in her all new avatar. Along with Shoumik’s Gulab Gang, she will also be seen in Hum Apke Liye, which will release back to back next year. But Ravs is looking forward to Gulab Gang, also starring Tabu and Shahana Goswami, as it is a very female oriented story and has her doing her serious best.

When Raveena was quizzed about her long absence from the big screen, she said, 'I wanted to be a part of a meaningful script and not just anything that came my way. This isn’t a comeback, it's me starting all over again. The story of Gulab Gang is so powerful; it resembles the kind of work I did in Shool, Satta and Daman.' A source reveals the story of Gulab Gang saying, “Raveena is the leader of a band of women fighting against the unjust and corrupt Uttar Pradesh system. It’s based on a true story, and all three actresses in the film have very powerful roles.”

Raveena who devoted four years of her life to her little children, four-year-old Rasha and two-year-old Ranbir, has always called them her priority and will balance both work and family life equally by doing just one film a year. When StarBoxOffice contacted Shahana, Raveena’s co-star in the film, she said, "The shoot hasn't begun and so, I cannot comment on this right now; it's too early." Apart from Raveena, Tabu too will be seen on the big screen after a long gap of time. Her last film Cheeni Kum with Amitabh Bachchan in 2007 was critically appreciated, and she is all set to team up with Big B again in The Legend of Kunal, for which pre-production work has begun.
