
While it is a glorious occasion for some that Aishwarya Rai has reached No. 9 at the Harpers and Queen Magazine, this is the same lady that "at least according to thousands of Web sites, Internet polls, several magazines lists and even the beautiful Julia Roberts herself had tagged her as ‘The World's Most Beautiful Woman in the world’. Yummy mummy Angelina Jolie is No.1 on the list while Christy Turlington, Queen Rania of Jordan, Sofia Coppola, Nigella Lawson follow lead.
Not only has Aishwarya dropped to 9th place on the Harpers Most beautiful women list but the actress has also been toppled over by many newbies from several of her ad campaigns. Aish who was the face of Nakshatra, L’Oreal and several other honchos has been replaced by younger faces and that to people she doesn’t see eye to eye now. While Katrina Kaif, who is ex-Salman’s current girlfriend, has taken over Nakshatra, Sonam Kapoor who has even dissed Aishwarya by calling her ‘Aunty’ is the face of L’Oreal.
Many say Aishwarya is unperturbed as she has several multi-budgeted flicks in her kitty that will be touted as the comeback of Aish in B-town. But with no sight of Aishwarya on the telly or at several events, she better have a back-up plan to stay in the limelight or else she’d have to suffer the fate of many other mid-thirties actresses. Aishwarya might be a global phenomenon and a well known celebrity in the International world but nowadays it’s only one’s work and the way celebrities are marketed the sure way of raking in the attention and the moolah.
Here’s hoping the once ice princess manages to hold her own in Bollywood for the last thing a woman would want is to be walked all over by a mother of 6 in the beauty department! What say?
