“Akon is such a gracious person. And he can’t wait to get into the studio. Even being at the press conference was a bit too much for him, as he kept asking me, 'When are we going to record the song?,' said King Khan at the press conference for Ra.One.

So, what happened when Akon got into the studio? A source present at the recording tells us all.

“Soon after the press con wrapped up, Akon went straight to Yashraj Studios, where Vishal and Shekhar had been waiting for him. And right from the minute he got in, it was all systems go for the rapper. Anubhav (Sinha) was also present at the recording,” says our source, “He had already got the melody and scratch material to hear the feel of the song. He just jumped into the recording booth and recorded the song right away. In fact, he even sang some lines in Hindi, and he was very good at it. He got the pronunciation and everything down perfectly.”

While both SRK and the composers have been very secretive about the exact song that Akon has been recording, the international sensation says that he has been actively involved in the composition. Akon says it isn’t only about lending his voice to the song that was recorded yesterday.

“I am definitely composing! What I wanted to do was give them, y’know, a couple of different versions of the way I would do it and then also integrate it with the traditional way of how Bollywood films’ music is done. But also doing it the way I normally do it. And then give them options to choose, for the best one that we can use for the film. I always wanted to give them options to be able to choose from,” says Akon.

Akon recorded the song with Vishal and Shekhar for the SRK- and Kareena-starrer Ra.One that is being directed by Anubhav Sinha. The film will be shot entirely in London, with Khan playing a superhero in the movie.
