The spat between the two seems to be worsening ever since Farah signed
Akshay Kumar in her next directorial venture.
“That SRK and Shirish (Farah’s husband) don’t get along is a known fact. For so many years, Farah and SRK had managed to maintain their friendship despite that. Shirish had been working on a script of
Tees Maar Khan for many months, and when it was finally ready, he was looking for a director. Farah really liked the script and decided to direct it, while the film would be produced by their recently established production house,” informs a source.
“SRK had made it clear that he wanted to have nothing to do with Shirish’s script, and Shirish himself didn’t want SRK. So, Farah had no choice but to go looking for another actor for
Tees Mar Khan. And that’s when she signed Akshay. Obviously, this didn’t go down well with Khan, who has now taken that as a sign of Farah shifting her loyalty. Farah herself had been working on another script –
Happy New Year - which was to be her next film before
Tees Mar Khan came along. Also, it was understood that SRK was the main lead in it. Farah had been quoted many times saying that she would never direct a film without SRK. And now SRK has basically sent out messages to Farah to let her know that he has no dates for
Happy New Year,” adds our source.
Our source tells us that SRK has chalked out all of 2010 for
Ra 1 and
Don 2. He is also considering coming back to television. Recently, when King Khan was asked about doing
Happy New Year, the superstar had dismissed the film saying “There is no script”, when everyone in Bollywood knows that Farah has completed most of the work on the script. Farah has already begun work on
Tees Mar Khan, while SRK is busy promoting his next release
My Name is Khan. And, interestingly, Farah, who is a regular at all Karan Johar and SRK events and parties, has been conspicuously absent from all ever since their fall-out.
Another telling side of this disappearing friendship is Farah’s chat show
Tere Mere Beach Mein, which was being co-produced by SRK’s Red Chillies Idiot Box and Farah and Shirish’s production house Three’s Company. But despite the success of the show, we hear that Red Chillies is not looking at making another season of the show.
