My first press conference
“When you see people promoting their films on TV, it looks like a lot of fun, but it is actually quite crazy. I was very nervous at the first press conference as I was sharing the podium with Mr. Bachchan, the Hindujas, my co-stars, R Madhavan and Leena Yadav. Somebody asked me a question and I started talking about my character, and then I saw the cameras flashing and the huge crowd, and I went completely blank. So, I admitted I was very nervous. We did a restaurant opening in Delhi and that was fun.”
Working with Mr. Bachchan
“We were supposed to meet Mr. Bachchan one day before the Mahurat. We waited for him with bated breath. Every time the door would open, we would all turn back, but it didn’t happen. Then, finally, the day of the shoot arrived and we met him. There was a strange silence when he walked in on the set. I think the bigger the legend you are, the more awesome you are. We all just stayed in our place, and he came and introduced himself to us and made us very comfortable. During shooting, he’d play pranks. That left us wondering if we were really working with the legendary Amitabh Bachchan. It was an awesome experience, and I think anyone would do anything to be in my shoes right now. It has been a great journey working with him because he accommodates people really well and the nervousness evaporates.”
Working with R Madhavan
“Working with Maddy was strange because I used to meet him when I was 14 years old. He used to play pool and snooker at my uncle’s club in Lokhandwala, Andheri, and we used to hang out and chat. He knew my dad and uncle. So, I went up to him when we started shooting and asked him if he remembered me. He was pleasantly surprised. It was great to work with him and team up with him again.”
