Big B and Mohanlal together?

Amitabh Bachchan has always praised the South film industry for its new inventions, films, directors and actors.

And now, Bachchan will be doing a Malayalam film. The movie is Kandahar, and it's about a plane hijack. The movie also stars southern superstar Mohanlal. Director Ravi has tried hard to get the two big men together in his movie, and he says he has succeeded in doing it. Ravi earlier directed Keertichakra, which was a big hit.

Confirming the news, Ravi says “I am so glad that he liked the script. And I am also very excited about casting Mohanlal and Big B together.”

So what will be Bachchan’s character? “He is playing the father of a passenger, and his son is in the plane,” says Ravi.

While Bachchan will play the father, actor Mohanlal will be seen as a commando, who helps in the rescue of the passengers.

The film's story is inspired by the hijacking of an Indian Airlines plane in 1999 while on its way from Kathmandu to New Delhi by Pakistani militants, taking 186 hostages.

The film will be shot in Delhi and Nepal. Ravi is a former NSG commando, and he says he will soon make another film on his own story.
