When most had come to think that Urmila’s B-town career had come to an end, she made her presence felt as a vamp in the remake of Karzzz with Himesh. The film was a disaster from the word go and Urmila’s performance in the movie left a sour taste in the audiences mouth. The actress was heartbroken with yet another setback and decided to lay low thereafter. Urmila was only recently spotted strutting the catwalk at the Wills Fashion Week, and when quizzed about her Houdini act, she said, ‘I have reached a stage in my career when I do not want to do the kind of films which I have already done or act in films which are not worth my while.’

While the typical scripts that were coming her way were one of the reasons behind her sabbatical, Urmila was also going through some tough family crisis. A source close to the actress revealed, “Urmila has been on an emotional rollercoaster these past few years. Her paternal uncle, who was very close to her family, died of a long-standing illness, leaving her father in a bad state. Only when they were trying to come out of the sadness of the past events, her father met with a major accident and underwent three major life-threatening surgeries. And, as if that wasn’t enough, her mother due to all the stress in the family had a nervous breakdown and was even admitted in the Intensive Care Unit. Urmila is very close to her family, and the course of these events left her stressed and heartbroken. She had completely isolated herself from the industry and was spending as much as time as she could with her family and relatives.”

Urmila has only just taken a breather, and is taking her time browsing scripts and other business ventures. She has a lot of things on mind and will take her own sweet time to finalise on her next plan of action.
