The film was earlier called
Prince of Thieves and Prince but now the title has been locked on to
Prince: It’s Showtime and that is relevant to the plot and narrative of the film.
Prince is about the search for a rare gold coin. Vivek plays a slick thief in the movie which has been shot in picture-perfect South Africa with action whiz Allan Amin being the mastermind behind the stunts. The film has a The Matrix-meets-The Bourne Ultimatum-meets-Mission: Impossible feel as it highly stylized and stylish. Vivek has dome some slick stunts like jumping off buildings, rocks and planes. The film has been on land, sea and in the sky. Vivek has a new look in the film and has bulked himself up for the challenging role.
About his role in the film, Vivek said, "I had to do these awesome stunts and look really cool. It was a nightmare and a fantasy-come-true simultaneously. I had a great time shooting the film and I hope the audience is thrilled too. My look comprising cool jackets, tees and jeans has been styled by Narendra Kumar Ahmed."
Elaborating on his role, Vivek adds, "There is a lot of incredible stunts I have had to perform involving dare-devil chase sequences and hand combat. I have prepared extensively for the scenes and have also spent hours in the gym to get the look right for the film. I am playing a smart con man, and I need to look the part of a person who is adroit in all sorts of combat"
Prince: It’s Showtime is directed by Kookie V Gulati who has earlier assisted on films like
Chup Chup Ke and
Pyaare Mohan. Aruna Shields, a Brit-Indian actress and Neeru Bajwa are the female protagonists in the film. Neeru Bajwa was linked with both Vivek and Kookie.
Prince: It’s Showtime is scheduled to release on December 11 this year, clashing with Ranbir Kapoor’s
Rocket Singh: Salesman of The Year.
