News is rite that Papa Roshan has begun planning the plot of Krrish 2, and the storyline seems to have gotten bigger and better. Krrish, that starred Hrithik Roshan and Priyanka Chopra, was the sequel to the hit Koi Mil Gaya, a remake of Hollywood film ET. While Krrish didn’t amass the same success as Koi Mil Gaya, Bollywood found its very own superhero in Hrithik Roshan. A source close to the Roshans reveals, “The Roshans are keeping mum about Krrish 2, as they are focussing all their attention in promoting Kites, starring Hrithik and Mexican beauty Barbara Mori internationally.”

He further adds, “However, that doesn’t mean that they have given up on the thought of making a sequel to Krrish. Hrithik will play double roles in the movie with traits like that of Dr. Jekyl and Hyde. Hrithik will show off his evil side, something like Shahid’s roles in Kaminey, but even better. While the special effects would be one of the highlights of the film, Rakesh Roshan was planning on giving the movie an edge with an SFX twist, as the part human-part robot aspect is such a craze with today’s generation. Whatever the Roshans do, they do on a global platform, and they will give Krrish 2 the same international appeal.”

However, when StarBoxOffice contacted Rakesh Roshan, he flatly denied the news, saying, “As of now, there’s no Krrish 2 happening; I am too busy promoting Kites. Kites is our focus of attention as of now; the movie is being dubbed both in English and Hindi in order to appeal to international audiences. We even screened Kites at Cannes and got a lot of positive response from the 10-second promo of the film.” But when we asked him whether he would want to make Krrish 2, he added, “I haven’t thought of it now, but haven’t ruled out the option of making it either.”

The source explains, “They created a noise about Kites earlier with the Barbara and Hrithik affair, and after that blew up in their faces, they are staying away from discussing their future projects as of now. But Deepika and Katrina are being thought upon for the leads of the film. Maybe after the release of Kites, the Roshans might release an official statement about Krrish 2.”
