Himesh essays the role of Radio jockey Vivaan who has only just gotten out of a failed relationship and meets a sweet and beautiful girl who he falls in love with. The actor spoke of his experience shooting for the film saying, ‘I want to prove myself as an actor with
Radio, I have attended a lot of workshops and have tried to come as natural as possible in the film. I even attended several radio jockeying workshops to familiarise myself with my surroundings. Besides
Radio, I have couple of other films in the pipeline.’
The singer turned actor has tagged the music of
Radio as his best yet and went on to say, “I’m very proud of the work I’ve done in
Radio, Mann Ka Radio has become the nation’s youth anthem.” Himesh, who has completed 500 songs, spoke of his passion for music saying, ‘As a kid, I always had a passion for music. I trained in semi-classical music under my father and wanted to get into the industry, but wasn’t getting that break. I had around 300 songs in my kitty, before I landed
Pyar Kiya Toh Darna Kya, all thanks to
Salman.” But not many know that Himesh is also a closet writer. He says, ‘I am also a huge movie buff, and while writing is not something I’m truly focussed on, I have written the script of my next film
Ishq Unplugged.’ Himesh is known to be very arrogant in the Industry, but co-star Shenaz Treasurywala feels otherwise. She says, "While I did have my apprehensions working with Himesh, I was surprised to see that he is actually a very nice human being and a joy to work with. I had a great time working with him, and the comfort factor is evident in the film as well."
After
Radio, Himesh will be seen in Pooja Bhatt's
Kajraare and the film has him sporting his
Karzzz look. A source revealed, "
Kajraare was to release right after
Karzzz, and has been delayed for a while now. The producer of the movie, Bhushan Kumar, had his apprehensions, as both Pooja and Himesh hadn't seen box office success for a while now. This is the very reason Himesh is pinning his hopes on
Radio, as its success would alter the course of his acting career in Bollywood, along with bringing future projects."
