“FREIDA only returned to India recently and since her return it’s been all about sittings with directors. Everyone has a script for her. She is also being chased by numerous brands who want to sign her up,” says a source close to the actress.

“Her international profile has gone through the roof. The management company who has signed her up in the US will be screening every script she takes on. Normally directors approach actresses in Bollywood and if the script looks good and the actresses have dates, she is signed on. But her contract in the West is water tight. They are aiming to project her in a certain way and that’s why the films that she will have to select and sign on will also have to be of a particular genre,” says the source.

In fact Freida Pinto is said to be charging as much if not more money than Aishwarya Rai currently. The actress is believed to be asking for as much 5 crores per film and in the current times of recession, it means it is only the big banners who are looking to take her on.

“UTV who have big plans to expand in Hollywood have been showing an interest in her. As is Anil Ambani’s Big Films. Yash Raj Films are also keen to have her but they want to offer her a multiple film contract and that is something her management is having a problem with,” adds the source.

Freida has already been signed up by Oscar winning director Woody Allen for his next film is also being pegged to be the next face of international cosmetic giant Estee Lauder.
