It was indeed surprising to hear that Kush Sinha had decided to turn actor, for he was always known to have said that being behind the camera was the right job for him. The idea of directing had always been exciting for Kush and he had directed many plays in school. He also went to the New York Film Academy to learn the art of direction. In addition to this, he even assisted Sanjay Leela Bhansali during the shooting of
Saawariya (2007) to learn the tricks of the trade.
“I always believed in the saying that you should always do something you believe in but that never meant to limit yourself in any way whatsoever,” says Kush when asked about his sudden change of plans.
So what was it about the film that made Kush take the big leap into acting? He says “The story content was just so strong and Apratim has put his heart and soul into the film. He and his father Vishnu Kare worked for four years on the script. It was because of this dedication and work ethic that I said yes to the film wholeheartedly.”
Kush says the movie is slated to release by the end of this year or early next year, but with the name of the movie not even decided upon yet, we think differently. Esha Deol has been roped in to play his leading lady, and the movie might just be the reason behind her sudden disappearance.
No matter when the film releases, it’s always good to see new talent in the industry and with his background in direction and experience behind the camera, Kush’s upcoming tryst with acting shows potential of living up to the Sinha name.
