Bollywood has already broken itself up into groups like the Bachchan group and the SRK group and so on. Other than not attending each others parties and premieres, the groupism also affects the audience because the members of one group are not supposed to work with another group.

A fresh development on the fight is the renewal of friendship between Salman and Aamir Khan. The two got along well during Aamir's appearance on Dus Ka Dum with nephew Imran, and they got along so well that a sequel is being planned for Andaz Apna Apna, their big hit in the 90s.

“Aamir and Salman have both matured over the years. Compared to their brash nature when they were much younger, the two have now sorted out their differences and are now in regular touch," said a source close to both the Khans, "In fact Sallu often drops in to meet Aamir. Now Aamir is getting all set to produce the sequel and has also spoken to Rajkumar Santoshi about him producing while Santoshi directs.”

This friendship has waxed as the SRK-Salman relationship has waned.

Salman's other close friend Akshay Kumar also has a strained relationship with King Khan. “Akshay is the only star who in recent times has truly given SRK a run at the box office. In fact he is the only actor right now who is considering releasing his film at the same date as SRK and not be worried about his film taking a hit,” said a friend of the star.

Akshay's recent statements also reveal the deep divisions of Bollywood. Rumours of his having an affair with his personal trainer led to Akshay angrily saying that such stories were being spread by a rival of his, someone threatened by his success.  Aamir and SRK had a strange exchange earlier this year when Aamir blogged, apparently in humour, about a dog called Shah Rukh.

SRK laughed this off at a press conference and said he couldn't say a word against Aamir because wife Gauri was a fan of his. But the exchange was full of tension because Aamir, fresh from the success of TZP, crowned himself with the No 1 star mantle.

Now with Aamir and Salman together again, Bollywood is bracing for the next round in this secret battle.
