Hello - Do not receive this call

Straight up, Hello is boring and lengthy. Nothing about the film grips you, though a few scenes make you laugh thanks to the actors.

At the beginning of the film, angel Katrina says that the story is more beautiful than her. I don't think so. Salman Khan plays himself and angel Katrina walks into his lounge and narrates the story to him on the condition that he will make a movie on it. Salman agrees.

Sharman Joshi plays Shyam, a team leader who is hung up on Priyanka (Gul Panag) who is contemplating marriage to an NRI for a well settled life. Amrita Arora plays Radhika whose mom-in-law drives her crazy but she sticks around for her hubby Anuj (Arbaaz Khan). Eesha is wannabe model Isha and Sohail Khan is funny guy Varun. Sharat Saxena plays Militry Uncle who is desperate to bond with his grandson in America. Daleep Tahil is their insensitive and selfish Boss who keeps mouthing God Bless America.

They are all fed up of lives and then God calls to rescue them.

Performance wise, Sharman Joshi and Sohail Khan are excellent. Sharman's animated devil is quite funny and Sohail Khan provides the much needed comic relief which makes the movie slightly watch-able. The girls are alright and it is nice to see Amrita Arora fully clothed in a salwar-kameez. Gul Panag's previous roles and performances have been better. Daleep Tahil's 'God Bless America' rant is annoying.

The music is bad. The item song in the second half pops out of nowhere and should have been shot in a real club for authenticity because the set is outdated. I don't think any call centre looks like the one shown in the movie. The six characters have separate desks and plenty of lounge space while other employees don't have that privilege; they are seated in rows of desks.

The love making scene between Gul and Sharman is thanda, lacking passion and romance and the song doesn't suit the mood at all. The accident scene lacks impact and reminds of movies from the 90s. You don't feel for the characters and wonder when it will end. The proposal scene is stretched too.

Fans of the book will be hugely disappointed. Don't bother receiving this call as it is a waste of time and money.
