SBO Reviews
No matter how much you try, there are some films you to go to review with a preconceived notion – it ain't going to be too much fun. And at times you come out of the theatre pleasantly surprised. Sadly, Mr. White Mr. Black does not fall into that category.
The film begins with three hot girls managing to rob a don Laadla's (Ashish Vidyarthi) diamonds worth crores. Gopi (Sunil Shetty) comes to Goa from Hoshiyarpur in search of his brother Kishen (Arshad Warsi) whom he wants to take back to the village where his father has left back zameen for him. But Kishen is least interested in going back and instead prefers playing a conman. He uses the money to educate his sister studying in London.
In the meantime, Gopi saves a girl Tanya (Anishka Khosla) from goondas in typical Bollywood style and as usual the two end up falling in love with each other. On the other hand, Kishen is in love with Anuradha (Rashmi Nigam) but he has been lying to her too. He tells Anuradha that he is an honest hardworking man and that he has a twin Hari who cheats people.
There are ample of unnecessary twists and turn and one such leads Kishen to know that the three girls have robbed the diamonds. So both Don Laadla and Kishen start hunting for the trio. Who makes away with the diamonds in the end? Well you'll have to go through the traumatic experience of watching the film to find out.
Both Sunil Shetty and Arshad Warsi and way better actors that their 'seen it all before' roles this film. The ladies have no scope for acting at all. The under utilized Ashish Vidyarthi comes good in a cameo as the don who loves watching 'maa' films and can't stop sobbing after that.
This is supposedly to be a comedy flick but most of the jokes are clichéd. The music by Jatin-Lalit is eminently forgettable.
But it is the script that is the real villain of the film. There are too many sub plots leaving you completely confused just like all the characters in the film.
A half baked attempt by director Deepak Shivdasani, Mr. White Mr. Black is a colourless film.
