KEANU REEVES (Klaatu):The Matrix star returns to his strong suit - the sci-fi realm - to play the role of Klaatu, a humanoid alien who arrives on Earth to warn humans that their continued aggression and destruction will lead to annihilation by species watching from afar.


JENNIFER CONNELLY (Helen Benson): Since her breakthrough role in the 2000 Aronofsky film "Requiem for a Dream", Jennifer Connelly has starred in such films as "A Beautiful Mind" for which she won a Golden Globe and an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress and last year, in the 5 times Oscar nominated and critically acclaimed "Blood Diamond".
Yeoh clearly demonstrated that she is more than the world's action queen in "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon," in a performance that brought her Best Actress nominations at the Taipei Golden Horse Film Festival, the Hong Kong Film Awards and the BAFTAs. In The Day the Earth Stood Still, Connelly plays the role of Helen Benson, the scientist who makes first contact with the alien named Klaatu (Reeves) and helps him carry out his mission.
